OXIDE Gallery is a “For-Sale” gallery dedicated to
Exposing the wonderful artwork of the artists living
in Denton County and the North Texas area.  The
gallery is a consignment gallery which hosts the
artwork of over 50 different artists at any one time.
Though the gallery is more modern in design, it
shows artwork from all genres

The gallery is located just four blocks west of Denton’s historic downtown square
inside the Linwood-Alford Florist building.  Warren Hooper, owner of
Linwood-Alford
Florist, opened OXIDE Gallery in an unused 900 square foot showroom within his
5,000 square foot florist building.  The gallery opened its doors to the public on
September 30, 2008 to a crowd of over 250 artists and art lovers.

The gallery hosts two different shows at the same time.  The Main Show is a four
month showing of eclectic artwork in various styles and mediums by artists who have
been invited by a guest jury to show in our gallery.  The Theme Show is a smaller
one month showing of artwork which shares a specific subject matter or genre.
Theme Shows are normally Multi-Artist shows open to any artist living in the North
Texas area, not just those who have been invited to show in the gallery’s Main
Show.  Occasionally the gallery does dedicate a monthly Theme Show to a single
artist or a specific group of artists. Artists wishing to know more about how to show
their artwork at OXIDE Gallery should visit the
Artist Section of our website or
Contact the gallery directly.

OXIDE Gallery unveils its new shows at an opening reception held at the gallery the
first Saturday of each month.  These opening receptions are called Gallery Nights.
Gallery nights are an evening event catered by locally owned restaurants and have
a fun cocktail party type of atmosphere.  They are meant to give art lovers a break
in the middle of their normal routines and allow them the chance to hang out with
their family and friends and expose themselves to some of the best artwork created
by our talented local artists.  But the art is not the only thing on display… artists
themselves are also on hand to meet and discuss their artwork, creative processes
and everything else you wish to know about art!

In addition, OXIDE Gallery has coordinated with Banter Bistro to showcase artwork in
their bistro.  See
OXIDE @ banter for more information on Banter and our shows
there.

Although OXIDE Gallery does host a public Gallery Night at the first of each month, it
has held private Gallery Nights for special groups.
Contact the gallery for
information on hosting a private Gallery Night for your club, work or organization.
