Does the gallery charge artists to show their
artwork?
The gallery does not charge an artist to be part of the gallery and to show their
artwork.  There are no fees to belong and no time or work required on the part
of the artist.  The gallery does take a commission on the sale of artwork.  If an
artist were never to have a piece sell, then it would never cost them a thing to
show their artwork in our gallery.

How much commission does the gallery receive?
The gallery receives 40% commission.

How long is the artwork on consignment?
Feature Shows are monthly shows.  Our Main Shows are 4 month shows
Why is the consignment for such a short time?
The goal of the gallery is to show all the best visual artwork that Denton and
the North Texas Area has to offer.  We have our consignment contracts set on
a shorter time so as to give more artists a chance to have their artwork shown
in our gallery and give them exposure.  This also keeps the artwork fresh and
new so regular clients and art appreciators will come in often.

How does the gallery select artists to show?
The gallery has a jury that reviews new artists and advises the gallery on who
would be the best ones to invite to be a part of the gallery.

I want to show my artwork in the gallery, what do I
do?
The gallery holds Artist Open Calls in which new artists are allowed to bring in
pieces of their artwork for our jury to review. See
Open Calls

What happens next if the jury selects my artwork?
As we prepare for the next show, we will contact approved artists and schedule
a private meeting for you to bring in as much artwork as you wish us to
consider placing on consignment in the gallery.  We will look over your artwork
and pick the piece(s) that we feel will best work with the show we are currently
putting together.

If the jury did not select my artwork, can I try again?
Absolutely!  We encourage everyone to attend our Artist Open Calls as often
as they can.  Just because the jury did not think the 3 pieces they saw from
you the first time fit with the gallery does not mean they won’t appreciate other
pieces better.  There is no limit on the amount of times an artist can bring in
work to have it juryed.

What is the jury looking for when selecting
artists/artwork?
The jury evaluates artwork on several different levels.  Talent, creativity, price,
and of course marketability.  Basically, would this artist’s work appeal to a
large enough group of people and is it priced correctly to sell.  It does not do
the gallery or the artist any good to have artwork in the gallery that our
community does not find appealing and/or priced too high for most people
interested to afford.

How do I find out when the next Artist Open Call is?
We will post the dates and times of future Artist Open Calls, as well as all
gallery events, on our
Calendar of Events.  We also email out notices to
everyone on our email list.  Joining our email list is the best way to keep
abreast of everything happening at the gallery!
