From childhood, Jon Ann has been drawing and designing everything
from houses, furniture, and apparel, as well as experimenting in
photography, collages, and other forms of expression. After working as
a fashion designer at Russell-Newman in Denton for 13 years she left to
pursue a new phase of her life. But it was when she began working with
wire and beads several years ago, that she discovered the most exciting
vehicle for expressing her imagination.
Jon Ann works mostly in sterling and pure silver as she draws her
inspiration from nature, architecture, and her Christian faith, among
other things. You will find a reoccurring theme of leaves, flowers, vines,
landscapes and more winding through her pendants, earrings, and
bracelets. Her unique silver cross pendants continue to be one of her
most popular designs. Occasionally you will also discover gemstones
and Swarovski crystals strategically scattered here and there to
enhance her collection.
“My empty nest has quickly become a jewelry design studio in which I
lose track of time as I pound, heat, and bend silver into submission.
Through the process, as the silver and I struggle together, it suggests
shapes and applications as new ideas are born.”
